Doctor Callback.

I’ve got some news to share! “Same here, Felly! Ok, most important person goes first.” Gotcha, so anyway- “Remember that homeless guy behind the Wendy’s? The one who I thought was a French financier? Well, we’re going into business together. Don’t worry, this isn’t a pyramid scheme nor is it crypto currency” Well, that’s good to hear. “We will be selling drugs! And not in the pharmacy, if you know what I mean ; )” That’s…not better. “I know you’re unemployed. I would ask you to join us but, you know, black…Utah. You get stopped just for walking around the block. I’d be losing money on you. It’s only business, you understand right?” ….. ”*Ahem* Oh, you had something to say?” I was just going to say I heard back from Huntsman. You know, the cancer doc? ”You have cancer?” The tumor. ”Not ringing a bell.” Remember when you put money on me dying. ”Oh right. That. You know, after I thought I lost everything, I was prepared to abandon my life here and take up a new identity and life dow...

Huntsman

“Fel, didn’t you have a doctor’s appointment for that tumor they found? You can’t just leave us hanging like this! You have to tell us how it went. Because we care and certainly not because there’s a betting pool set up and some of us invested our life savings and 401k into you dying!” Well, that’s good to hear because I’m not dying.”   “…good. Will you excuse me for a few minutes? I really have to make a couple of phone calls!”   I know how you feel. If I was dying, I wouldn’t have to look for work. I could retire early and just live off the money I saved up in my bank account and 401k for the few years I had left. But, no! Looks like I’ll have to continue looking for work and being a productive member of society. Lucky me -_-   Yeah, so I had some lab work done. Tumor didn’t spread. Not dying. As of right now, things are still in the air on what to do next. The Huntsman doctor needs to follow up my knee surgeon on where exactly he found the tumor. T...

Primerica

Have you ever heard of Primerica? I certainly hadn’t. Evidently, they sell insurance. So, a rep of theirs reached out to me, asking if I’d be interested in a job. I felt lucky. Here I was, just a handful of days unemployed and already someone reached out to me. I’ll be honest, I don’t really know a lot about insurance. My old employer took care of it all. I’m guessing that’s how it works for most people. Insurance is what your employer provides. I was busy for a bit, getting my imaging done for the cancer screening but she was flexible and finally met today at 2pm.   She sent me a Zoom link. Nothing unusual. I’ve used this at work for meetings. Great way for people to meet face-to-face using tech without having to actually give away your number to random people. I was surprised to find out it was a group interview. Here I thought I was getting a one-on-one interview. But whatever. Also, the person who reached out to me was here but she wasn’t the one speaking to us. Instea...

The Worst April Ever

What an April! But I can’t even talk about what happened without first giving you my perspective going into it. As far as March goes, things were pretty normal except for one thing. And that’s fine. I like normal because it’s boring (like me). At the end of March, I had the annual review with my boss. He loved working with me and appreciated what I did as I received my yearly raise. And that’s the 2 nd half of my March. Boring. The one exception to all of this was that, at the start of March, I actually took a week off of work, which is something I never really do. But I had a good reason. I went in for knee replacement surgery. Most people familiar with me know I’ve had knee issues for a while. My right knee has kind of sucked since near the end of my college years. I tried to fix it. Some scopes with surgery, manipulation, physical therapy, all that helped a little but didn’t quite fix it. The most extreme thing I did was lose a bunch of weight. I went from my heaviest at 30...
