Dream School
Sometimes dreams put you in weird situations. My co-worker,
Pardus, and I were on our way to…something. It was for work. I wasn’t entirely
sure what we were supposed to do. It was training related, I just wasn’t sure
if we were to train others, we were to be trained or what. All I know is that I
was with Pardus, as we were driving to where we needed to be.
Turns out it was a middle school. We walk into the office, say “We’re here.” And get ushered to a classroom. We were seated in the back at a table, with the teacher up front teaching math and the students, presumably, paying attention. The office worker told us to let them know if we needed anything and left. I figured at some point the teacher would tell us what we’re there for. So we continued sitting. Waiting. A bell rang and the students left. We were finally approached by the teacher.

“It’s lunch
time. You’re more than welcome to the food in our cafeteria. After lunch, the
students return here for class again.”
So it’s after lunch, I don’t remember eating but sometimes
that’s normal for me. We’re sitting down and the teacher welcomes the class to
grade 9 English. At this point, I raised my hand and asked what this had to do
with internet security. Why are we here from work? Pardus and I graduated from college;
I think we’re passed this stuff.
“What are
you talking about?” the teacher asked me with a confused look on her face.
“We’re here
for training, aren’t we? For our company.”
“Aren’t you
from the college, here on a study to observe our teaching methods?”
“No, Pardus
and I are…” I stopped. I looked over at Pardus and asked “Are we even in the
right place?”
“Um…about
that.” Pardus started. “Turns out this isn’t the right place. I was holding the
map upside down.”
“And you’re
just realizing this now?”
“No! I’m
not THAT stupid. I realized this right as we got to that first class. I just
didn’t say anything because I didn’t want you to get mad at me. At least not
until the Magic the Gathering tournament happening after school.”
The dream ended before I had a chance to kill him. No doubt
Dream Pardus will show up again in the future. Sometimes dreams put you in
weird situations. This one made perfect sense in hindsight.
