Affirmative Reaction

For the most part, Uber drivers are pretty interesting folks. And not weird at all. But every once in a while, you meet some people that make you go "huh?".
The other day I got into a car with this dude who was listening to the Spanish station. It was kind of weird, normally uber drivers put on music or some like it quiet. But this was just 2 Spanish or Mexican people talking. Oh well. I'm a passenger, it's not my car, I'm not going to say anything. So he's taking me home and I'm quiet, not trying to strike up a conversation because he's obviously listening to this for a reason.
We're 2 minutes from my house before this guy finally says something. "Man, these Mexicans talk so fast. I don't get how anyone can understand what they say, even if they know the language." Then it hit me. He didn't put it on the Spanish channel for his benefit. He put it on because he thought I was Mexican. One of these days, racism is going to work in my favor. I'll get into a car and there'll be some Taco Bell or some KFC and I'm going to say "Finally, took Affirmative Action long enough to get to me!"

It’s the month of October. Which means it’s the season of scary stuff. Hauntings, Death and, worst of all, politics (if you screamed, that was probably your neighbor finally snapping from all the advertisements they’ve been getting informing them that a politician’s political opponent ate babies and didn’t even have the common courtesy of saying grace beforehand. I might have a slight problem.

  Me: So, back on September 20th, I weighed in at 165 when I got on the scale for a check up at the doctor. I bought a scale to keep track of it at home. This scale says I'm at 200.   I asked her how her Halloween was and if she did anything fun. She replied: it was fun. Not sure what “it” she did that was fun but at least she had some.   If you’re asking “Why did you ask her how her Halloween was in December?” there’s a good answer to your question. I didn’t. I asked how her Halloween was in November, specifically November 1 st . It just took her a month to get back to me. 3 words took her 30 days to write. And I thought I was a lazy writer. “She sounds awful. What did you see in this person that made you swipe right on them?” Well, she said she loved to talk and would not shut up.
